Careplots is announcing a partnership with the Coleridge Initiative to modernize the big data management infrastructure, architecture and processes, providing advanced cloud computing options to the academic research community. The Coleridge Initiative is a not-for-profit organization, originally established at New York University, that is working with government agencies and academic communities to ensure that data are more effectively used for public decision-making. Coleridge's mission is aiming to democratize the data access across numerous federal and state agencies and to break down the barriers to confidential data access and research. The Coleridge Initiative leads the way in managing and provisioning access to the most sensitive microdata in a highly scalable and secure research platform called the Administrative Data Research Facility (ADRF).
Careplots and Coleridge Initiative has entered into a 2 year services contract to support projects related to big data management of federal statistical agencies in ADRF. In support of the "open data" initiatives sanctioned by the Evidence Based Policy Making act of 2018, Careplots will provide data services to Coleridge and select federal agencies to transfer and ingest the raw data; process and clean data; load the data into appropriate file management systems such as high performance computing databases, standardize data, optimize data structures, creating "analysis ready" data structures and assessing statistical properties of the data.
In addition Careplots SMEs will serve as a liaison between appropriate staff on maintaining the file management systems and will work with agency analysts and 3rd party data owners to address data quality and mapping issues. Lastly, Careplots team will provide technical support and training to agency users and academic researchers for data science best practices such as working efficiently with large subsets of data.
